showing off

Jamaican rain tree

For the past few days, I have been putting off cutting the grass because of the frequent rain showers and the hot sun (any excuse not to sweat and get wet). So this morning I decided to bite the bullet and get on with it. It was quite enjoyable zipping around on my mower. I happened to glance over towards the island beds and suddenly this bolt of yellow struck me. I exclaimed with a loud "WHOA" "OH MY GOD"! I had to go get my camera! My Jamaican rain tree was in her glory and so was my flamboyant . Anything for a break and a kodak moment. Well sadly the break is now over and I have to get back to work......... Tah dah until we meet again.

  3. Wow, Helen... definitely a show-off bloomer. It must be even more stiking in person. And those rain lilies in the previous post... amazing! I love the dark color. I have the light pink ones. You have really made the most of them in that border.

Love it that you're getting rain again. It is remarkable what bit of rain will do for the garden.
    Hugs to you, my friend.

  4. Nice Jamaican tree! The yellow is really striking.

Oh, I have been delaying on my gardening chores as well. The weather here is the same. It rains even during sunny days! I really hope for more moderate weather. Nonetheless, happy gardening!
