They are so lovely!

Wanna say I appreciate your input in helping me to find the name for my yellow blooms, Gardenia Pfordii. I don't know if there's any seed from the plant. You must get it as the scent is so sweet and always put a smile on my face.
:o)J.C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10904882913688765735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4783732461624617508.post-2494374937497577022009-07-15T00:35:14.463-04:002009-07-15T00:35:14.463-04:00Jean thanks very much, yes I posted two photos of ...Jean thanks very much, yes I posted two photos of viburnums and they are beautiful. Just so you know, I'm not an Illinois gardener so I can't give you specifics (I garden in north Louisiana) but I do believe My Mother's Garden is correct. Red peony (of some kind; they don't grow here so I'm a little ignorant), definitely lilacs are the lavender ones (they don't grow here either but they were blooming profusely when I went to Chicago Spring Fling),and viburnums are most likely the white blooms. Do you have two different kinds there? I can't quite tell. You certainly saw some of the most beautiful blooms that are up there! I hope this helps.
JeanDig, Grow, Compost, Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10111150807638669133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4783732461624617508.post-269811899568006102009-07-13T15:35:14.689-04:002009-07-13T15:35:14.689-04:00Nickandmiri I would plant them about a foot apart....Nickandmiri I would plant them about a foot apart. We live in Puerto Rico and share your love of gardening (though we are both new to extensive gardening, and life in the tropics!). You mentioned that "Pride of Barbados" is often planted as a hedge on the Island. We have a mature plant that I've taken seeds from and have started a lot of plants (boy are they vigorous!). We plan to use them to create a hedge. Have you ever noticed how close together folks space the plants to create a nice tight hedge? Thanks!
MiriAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4783732461624617508.post-36673380241067850302009-07-13T08:13:03.826-04:002009-07-13T08:13:03.826-04:00Meems am making some headway on the identification...Meems am making some headway on the identification process. I'm going to take a stab at guessing what they are:
Red blooms look like some sort of peony.
Are the purple/lavender blooms lilacs?
White lacy blooms remind me of vibirnam.

Isn't it wonderful to see new and unknown flowers?
