T'is the season to be jolly !My garden is ablaze with the colours of christmas. It has been raining somewhat at nights (liquid snow) lol and am soo happy that I do not have to water the garden. I decided to get a real pine tree and should have that up by tomorrow Tuesday Dec 16th. I am soo tired and will try to get a good night's sleep. What am I talking about ? Sleep ??? with so much to do? Ha!

Thank you Sunita, I just love the Malay apple blooms. The coconut palm stump is great for vandas however they do rot and soon I have to find another piece of wood for it.

ReplyDeleteWHERE can I buy a 'golden crinum'? I MUST have one! I am a lily nut, and I don't have this!
I live in Texas, on the coast, and many of your flowers flourish for us as well. The 'fuzzy wuzzy' is a native here- we call it 'fairy duster'. The 'Barbados bachelor buttons' are called 'Brazilian buttons' here, and though they are not natives, they are among my favorites. They reseed generously, and are really nice at a time of the year when nothing else is blooming much. They bloom all year!
I am not familiar with the 'starburst cleradendron', but I grow many other varieties of cleradendron. I will have to be on the lookout for this one. Gingers are also staples in our gardens, and the butterfly ginger is especially wonderful because of the fantastic fragrance that surrounds it.
What zone are you? What kind of soil do you have? You mention your gratitude for the rain, and I was surprised. I was thinking you were almost a rain forest, for some reason. How much rain do you get in a year?

Thank you Janie for stopping by. I am in the Caribbean and my zone will be like 10-11 something like the Florida Keys. We have a clay soil mixed with limestone and not very deep. A real pain when it is too wet and can kill a man when it is bone dry. lol Oh oh you sound like me when I see a plant that I must have Try Logees greenhouse or Top tropicals for the golden crinums.
