The flowers of the Jamaican rain tree (brya ebenus) This was given to me by a fellow gardener and friend. Thank you Philip!
It flowers in high humidity and has done so at least three times for the year . It is a tough tree with tiny spines along the branches and it grows up to 30ft when mature. To enjoy more blooming Friday take a stroll over to Katerina at roses and stuff. Have a great weekend my friends!
The flowers are very pretty- like golden sweet peas. I have not seen it here.

ReplyDeleteNice colour! The flowers are so interesting,they are all over the shrub and growing out from the stems. Are the flowers long lasting? or drop quickly?

AZplantlady.......It grows in Miami Florida so it might grow in AZ. It may not flower all year round but in the summer it will I think.

ReplyDeleteYou have so many interesting and different (to me) flowers. The Jamaican rain tree kind of reminds me of some low water trees in the southwest (Palo Verde I think?).
ReplyDeleteI wanted to also comment on your comment about my Botswana trip. The former leader of Botswana that you mentioned is one of the wise ones I referenced in my post. He made sure that the money they got from diamond mining went to education for all their citizens. A truly amazing place!
Autumn Belle....I am not sure if the flowers are fragrant cause I went out to sniff them and they were gone!
