Garden spaces

The back garden pergola is nearly two years old, it seems only like a few months ago. How time has flown! Yesterday I decided to place some of my many potted golden palms along the back wall to create a more cozy space. To tell the truth I seldom use this area and I decided to I take time out to enjoy this space . This morning I had my cup of coffee out there.

My birthday is next month and am toying with the idea of a small celebration, and why not have it here? The yellow mandevilla, now known as the vine alamanda has finally covered half of the pergola, thus providing me with some shade during the hottest part of the day. It is a lovely spot to relax in the evenings.

As you can see my adirondack chairs have not been painted since I started two years (more like 17 months) ago. I don't know if I will ever finish this job or delegate it to my garden helper. I know, I am the world's greatest procrastinator and some times I need to have fire under my rear end to get some things going.

To all my fellow garden bloggers, I will not name you but you know who you are, please join me for tea and crumpets on Saturday at 4.00pm. Please dress appropriately.

P.S. Happy belated birthday greetings Virginia!

  4. Hi! I am not a blogger but I love to read your blog. So count me in for the birthday bash. (Who wouldn't like to sit in that inviting pergola?) And do remember to mark the adirondack chair that you assembled yourself without any help about a year ago. I had marvelled at your adroitness then but, er, I would rather not sit on it.

  8. Helen, advance Hapi Bertdey! A beautiful garden fitting a beautiful house. I will surely come but because of the distance i might still be there until dinner also because i want to feel the ambiance of the new kitchen.Maybe it is not very hot and humid anymore in the garden because you had the rains earlier than here. May i request also that i be treated as a very special case because of my distance! Never mind, i will help you in gardening in the days i will be staying, i will work my keep! hahaha. Thanks a lot.

  9. Andrea.....Thank you so much and a very warm welcome will be given whatever time you arrive. Of course you will be treated like a VIP (here that means a Very Important Pig)! A tour of the kitchen is on the schedule and the coolest bedroom has been reserved for you. Yes there will be lots of work to be done in the garden and may I suggest you bring along some liniment for your back.

  13. Happy Birthday in advance! I wanna come too. I look forward to see your new kitchen, the gardens and the whole house. Oh, I must remember to bring some pandan leaves too. It will come in handy if you are making green deserts or cakes. If I haven't arrived on time, please use the loudspeaker or send a 'howler' and make sure it echos through the mountains and across the Pacific Ocean! Now, what should I wear???
