Hello and welcome to Garden Bloggers Bloom Day where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. We are still in a drought and water rationing is in place. Hose and sprinkler usage is prohibited. Apart from that, the dry season triggers many plants and shrubs to bloom
I have been experimenting with dwarf sunflowers with very good results. Another newbie to the garden is verbena bonariensis. It looks a lot like lantana but without the smelly leaves.
This adorable cutie is latest family member "Reds". She appeared a few months ago bleeding from the mouth and limping. We immediately took her to the vet and was diagnosed with rat poisoning. She was treated and is now part of the pack.

Hi Helen, you are in drought but your plants and flowers don't like like they are thirsty! We are entering our dry season now and the temperature and heat index seem as if we have been in it for a long time. I pity my plants in the province as our water is difficult during the dry season.
