Garden Blogger's Bloom day January 2015

Kalanchoe blooming this time of year
 Oxalis spiralis
Hubby and I decided to install gates and have an area of the property enclosed to prevent the dogs from wandering onto the busy road. I have chosen the gate design and am in the process of finding someone to build them.
The beautiful African Tulip adding that flame in the landscape.
A close up of the flower, just look at that trim on the edge. Reminds me of a flamenco dancer's skirt.

The spent flowers decorate the grass.
 Duranta repens
Can you believe I have apple seedlings growing. Out of 15 I have four that are coming along nicely.
My front entrance begonias are still showing off their blooms. They will soon be needing to be cut back and I am postponing that until the very last moment.

Hello and welcome to Garden Blogger's Bloom day where gardeners around the globe show what is blooming in their gardens.  Earlier this week we had some unexpected rain and I was so happy for that drenching.
To see more blooming gardens please visit Carol's page at May dreams gardens. Wishing all a healthy and happy 2015.

Garden Blogger's Bloom Day November 2011

Mangoes are back in season an unusual occurrence for me with a second crop in a year. They should be ready to eat around Christmas ....yummy.

Mr lizard  posing for me on an anthurium

Hello and welcome to GBBD where gardeners from around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. We have been getting frequent rainfall and the garden is alive with colour and greenery. Last Saturday and Sunday we had very heavy rainfall and of course the lowest areas in the garden was flooded. The water has receded and hopefully there will be little damage to trees and plants.

To see what is blooming in other gardens around the globe please go over to Carol at may dreams gardens  and check them out.  Have a great week and happy gardening!

My garden is very colourful this month and will continue to be for few next months. We have had a very wet month, very unusual for January since it is supposed to be the start of the dry season. My mother in law left last week after a wonderful visit. It is very quiet and lonely without her. I can truly say that I have one of the best if not the best mother in law in the world. She was just happy to putter around the garden helping and spoiling her son with his favorite foods. I am already looking forward to her next visit next year. Love you Barbs!
