Hello and welcome to GBBD where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. Today I am showing some of the white flowers in my garden.   We've recently had some rain after a very dry spell. I can't say for sure it is the start of  our rainy season but I will keep my finger crossed.

I am sooo Happy to see the end of the mango season, my back ached collecting these fellows.

Hello and welcome to Garden blogger's bloom day where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. The mango season has come to an end (phew!) and I am elated! There were mangoes all over the house. My freezer is bursting with bags of the fruit and my husband is complaining that he can't get counter space in the kitchen. I just have one more tub of mangoes to prepare for freezing (my poor hands).  We have been getting frequent short showers  and the garden is now  a verdant and weedy sanctuary. To see what is blooming in other gardens please go over to Carol at may dreams gardens where many gardeners can't wait to show you their gardens. Have a great week my friends.

The lusty month of May

delicate white Duranta
white Mussaenda
Barbados Amaryllis  in their glory
potted red Amaryllis giving some quadruple delight
pink apple blossom Cassia (cassia javanica) letting us know that spring has definitely sprung
a new addition to the garden the double red Mussaenda
the Zepyhranthes or rain lilies are out in full force after the May showers

Tra la! It's May!
The lusty month of May!
That lovely month when ev'ryone goes
Blissfully astray.
Tra la! It's here!
That shocking time of year
When tons of wicked little thoughts
Merrily appear!
It's May! It's May!
That gorgeous holiday
When ev'ry maiden prays that her lad
Will be a cad!
It's mad! It's gay!
A libelous display!
Those dreary vows that ev'ryone takes,
Ev'ryone breaks.
Ev'ryone makes divine mistakes
The lusty month of May!
Whence this fragrance wafting through the air?
What sweet feelings does its scent transmute?
Whence this perfume floating ev'rywhere?
Don't you know it's that dear forbidden fruit!
Tra la la la la! That dear forbidden fruit!
Tra la la la la!

Garden Bloggers Bloom Day September 2011

Monarchs are back in the garden after several years of  absence.

These night blooming lilies  are a true baby pink colour.
White  mussaenda will remain  in bloom for several months.
Dwarf powder puff  shrub well is suited for containers.

Hello and welcome to Blooms day  where gardeners from around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens.  It has been a very hot and humid September so far. Yes and the raindrops kept falling all over my garden giving the weeds an excuse to misbehave.  For those of you in the tropics, it is time to start cutting back your plants for the winter/Christmas season. Because of the dampness please pay attention to fungus on your plants, it is deadly if not caught early.  To see what is blooming in gardens around the globe please visit Carol at may dreams garden . Have a wonderful week and happy gardening.

Garden bloggers bloom day Sept 2010

A dendrobium orchid doing its thing,  I have placed it on this old tamarind tree to grow.

A Star is born! A  macro shot of  inside the flower below, alamanda cherry jubilee

This faithful vanda never fails to please.

Bauhinia Alba, the white orchid tree.

This clerondendron  was recently planted here and it has taken like a duck to water and there is Rusty always in the picture.

White mussaenda just profuse with blooms!

Thought I would include this early morning shot  with the early  sun's rays filtering through the trees.

Hello  friends, and welcome to Garden bloggers bloom day  where gardeners from all around the world show what is blooming in their gardens today. After very heavy showers last week, some areas of the garden was under water for 36 hours. Luckily the palms and plants don't seem to be too bothered by the deluge. There is a wonderful  feeling of  rebirth after the rains with many shrubs in bloom adding  a splash of colour  to the palette. To see more gardens in bloom please take a short skip over to Carol at may dreams gardens
Have a wonderful day !

what?... another bloomin' Friday!

I would like to know the name of this plant. All I know it is not a penta.  Ah ha! Shaijala has correctly identified it as a Rondeletia leucophylla or commonly called a pink bush penta or fragrant pink Panama Rose

Hello my friends, welcome to Blooming Friday! It has been  a hot and sweltering week.  I have been only going  into the garden early in the morning and later in the afternoon when the sun has started to move west. Nah.... not me and that hot sun, even the dogs are afraid to go outside.  I am hoping that this heat breaks and brings us some rain to cool the earth. Our weather starts getting  a bit cooler around November when North America cools down, so we have another month of heat to look forward to...... aaahhhh. For more blooming Friday blooms please take a stroll over to Katarina at roses and stuff.
