Garden Blogger's Bloom day June 2014

I went to visit one of my favorite nurseries after a year's absence. I came back with a trunk full of new additions for the garden.

I have even started a succulent bowl. Succulents were never a favorite of mine but recently I have seen really lovely arrangements, so I thought I would give them a try.

Have been attaching young orchid plants on this tree stump I picked up on the side of the road. I am hoping that most of them take root and can't wait to see them in bloom.
I bought two of these spathiphyllums aka giant peace lilies. I know they are slug and snail food but I plan to keep a sharp eye on them

Got meself some Vanilla orchids woo hoo! I am going to try producing some vanilla!
It is still bone dry and no rain as yet. This is our 15th week with no rain. My water bill was horrendous the last two months.
Dark clouds teasing
The Delonix regia is now beginning to show her colours  aka Royal Poincianna, flamboyant, gul mohur

Hello and welcome to Garden Blogger's Bloom day where gardeners around the globe show what is blooming in their gardens.  We are experiencing some very serious drought conditions and badly in need of some rain. The clouds are looking like rain but the wind is high and they are blown out to sea. We've had a few sprinkles but those quickly evaporate in the heat. To see what is blooming in other gardens please visit Carol at May dreams gardens
Have a great week and do a rain dance for me please.

a maidenhair fern volunteer I found growing between the crown of thorns

The rain lilies aka zephyrantes are now in bloom below the white mussendas

We are still in a drought and haven't seen true rain for over two months. Only a few sprinkles here and there.
Hello and welcome to Garden Blogger's Bloom Day where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. Frangipani is the scent of the moment in the garden. I am so in love with them I will be  trying to make some essential oils with them. I am feeling very crafty after a visit to Miami Florida last month where I bought a load of crafty stuff to do from Michaels and Joann fabrics.
To see more blooming gardens please take a trip over to Carol's maydreams gardens.
Enjoy the rest of your week folks and please send us some rain!

Garden Blogger's Bloom Day April 2014

 Frangipani aka Plumeria

This Singapore Plumeria has the surroundings smelling like an expensive perfume.
 Cape honeysuckle

I felt so sorry for this bed that I decided to give it some water.

Hello and welcome to Garden Bloggers Bloom day where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens.  We are in a deep drought and I cannot keep up with the watering. I keep hoping that it will rain soon in my area but all I hear is that the south coast is getting all the rain. My gingers are in a very sorry state just waiting on the rain to quench their thirst.
Franginpani or Plumeria are in full bloom with a riotous display of colour. Cape honeysuckle has blossomed beautifully after pruning it back sometime last year.

Have a great week folks!

Garden Blogger's Bloom Day March 2014

Desert rose (adenium)

Vanda orchid

Welcome to Garden Bloggers Bloom Day where gardeners from around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. I was by my friend David for dinner the other night and was stunned when I saw his desert roses. They were spectacular!  I didn't have my camera on me so I went back the next day to take some photos. And the pool......it was stunningly beautiful!  We are in the dry season and the plants that thrive are in full bloom around the island.  The Desert roses, Bougainvillea and  Frangipani  are showing their colours.  To see more of what is blooming please visit Carol at Maydreamsgardens .
Thank you David for allowing me to share your blooms. It is Saturday folks so get out there and GARDEN! Have a great weekend!
