Garden Blogger's Bloom Day November 2014

I have become Dame Mesticated.  I have brought the garden indoors with these cushions. I have resurrected my sewing machines after a sejour of over 14 years.

These begonias are enjoying the rainy weather. They are thriving here at the front entrance.

This morning the pond clarity was unbelievable.

Faithful pink mussenda always in bloom.

Hello and welcome to Garden Blogger's Bloomday where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens.  The Chikki virus finally caught me and is still with me. It started out  three weeks before with a painful left ankle. I couldn't remember twisting my ankle but it felt as if I had. Then for two nights I had a high fever and both my feet were painful to walk on. I spent two days in bed. The third day I felt better my feet stopped aching and the mysterious pain in the ankle was no more. I felt great and thought well that wasn't too bad. I still felt a bit tired after doing things like cutting the grass. Then a week later a rash appeared on all body and it was itchy. I got some antihistamine to take care of that. The rash lasted for two days and then the feet got swollen. So I had to rest  but with daughter's wedding coming up I had to have some things done. Then my right hand started hurting so badly it
woke me up at night. Some nights I didn't know where to lay it on the bed. I got some extra strength painkillers for that. Today my daughter is getting married and I will be hobbling along and hoping that the pain will stay away. So far the hand is feeling ok at the moment. Apart from that I will live.

Garden Blogger's Bloom Day December 2013

This blue Baleria obtusa or bush violet caught my eye this morning. I was surprised to see how well it looks since it is quite old and has been cut back frequently.
A newer dwarf Baleria variety I use as a border plant.
Here I have dwarf Balerias bordering pink pentas.
White begonias are enjoying the cooler nights we are now experiencing with strong trade winds.

Deep blue duranta repens blooms drooping under the weight of the top heavy shrub.
My snow on the mountain an euphorbia leucocephala  is not as spectacular this year as years gone by. The old one finally fell and this is a younger shrub whose shape will improve with future pruning.
Welcome to Garden Blogger's Bloom Day where gardeners around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. Christmas is ten days away and this year the Christmas spirit has not caught up with me as yet.

Garden Blogger's Bloom Day March 2012

We were driving along this country road chatting when this view stopped us in our tracks!
We stopped and knocked at the cottage door and a window opened with a smiling face behind it.
Chinaman's hat and cherry jubilee Alamanda happily coexisting.
Cigarette Cuphea adding a splash of colour here.
Crotons took on a special brilliance in this garden!

Eureen at the front of her cottage.
Begonias, Crotons, Pandanus and Pointsettia all competing for attention.
Poinsettia still showing off her blooms.
Morning glory brightening up this tree trunk.
 White Begonias
Asparagus fern merrily rambling along a fence.
 Green Chinaman's hat
Impatiens were popping up here and there
This colourful croton was to die for.

This Sansevieria was unknown to me and Eureen shared a piece. She told me that it perfumes the garden when in bloom.
Hello and welcome to Garden Blogger's Bloom Day where gardeners from all around the globe post what is blooming in their gardens. Last month I was gallivanting around the island with a friend who follows my blog in Australia. Yes I said Australia, as we were driving along a country road  in the parish of St. John we came across this gem of a garden owned by a sweet lady by the name of Eureen. It was a cornucopia of colour and plants. She was happy to show us around and talk to us about her garden which has been featured in many international publications. I can only describe this garden as a true Caribbean cottage garden. To see more blooming gardens please go over to Carol's blog at may dreams gardens
