Royally hot, loud and proud

The Royal Poincianna (delonix regia) or Flamboyant for some of us, is showing off her dazzling beauty around the island. The season arrives very early this year, normally they bloom in July and August. Mine are slowly coming into bloom and won't be ready for another few weeks. For more hot loud and proud please visit a plant fanatic in Hawaii .

They say great minds think alike! Andrea, who lives in the Philippines has done a post about the same tree on her blog , under the same meme, hot loud and proud. I am linking her post to mine, so please go over to visit her at Andrea in this lifetime
Enjoy!!

  5. Yes Helen, i posted first so you might have heard my shout this time, hahaha, we have the same thing in mind. It looks like you are also planting the fire trees along the streets, however it blooms there later than here. So it's the right time to put a link to each others blog, i will put yours in mine.

  9. Absolutely and shamelessly flamboyant. I have heard of other names for this - Flame of the Forest, Mayflower, and Gul Mohur.

  11. Hello Dear Helen,
I always love seeing your photos of the flamboyant poincianas. They seem to be so much fuller down your way than the ones closer here. They don't bloom in my county but one county south they will start blooming in about a month. There really isn't anything like a tree with those hot blooms all over them.
    hugs to you... Meems
